Abhishekh’s entry in Ravan

Before Abhishekh’s entry in Ravan Mani Ratnam approached Shah Rukh Khan for the role. Sources reveal that Mani Ratnam wanted to have Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the leading pair of his bilingual film. Firstly when Shah Rukh Khan was told about the film Ravan the King of Knight Riders was interested to do the film but later he opted out. According to the sources Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also suggested Mani Ratnam for Shah Rukh Khan. However it was not meant to be. There was a long delay following the initial discussion between the director and the actor, and in the meantime he committed his dates to Aditya Chopra. Shah Rukh Khan wants his holidays to be spent with his Kids.So he opted out and then role was offered to Abhishekh Bachchan
